2 Days Sensitization Retreat on the new Customs Service act 2023 held at Wells Carlton Hotel Asokoro Abuja

The DG Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Prof M T Ladan and the DG Nigerian Copyright Commission, Dr. John Asien with the Acting Comptroller-General Of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, at the opening session of the Nigeria Customs Service Management 2 Days Sensitization Retreat on the new Customs Service act 2023 held at Wells Carlton Hotel Asokoro Abuja on Monday 10th July 2023.
In his opening remark, Prof. Ladan explained the justification for reform of the 63 year old pre-independence outdated legal regime and the consolidation of the scattered pieces of incoherent enactments under one single comprehensive legislation consistent with Nigeria ‘s treaty obligations under WTO, Ecowas And AFCFTA, for an ICT driven modern customs administration and operational realities for improving service delivery, enhancing trade facilitation, cross-border trade/ e-commerce , determination and certification of rules of origin of goods and revenue generation among others.
