Master of Philosophy (MPHIL) Degree

1. O’level Certificate
2. LL.B Certificate
3. B.L Certificate
4. LL.M Certificate for MPhil/PhD Applicants
5. NYSC Certificate
6. Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age, among others.
Qualification
Candidates for admission to the M Phil/Ph D degree programmes shall, in addition to fulfilling the requirements for the PGD programme, also possess the following:
- LL M in Legislative Drafting of the Institute; or
- LL M in Legislative Drafting from any other recognized University from the Commonwealth Law System or the United States of America; or
- LL M from any other recognized University.
A candidate for the M Phil/Ph D degree may, additionally, be required to undergo a selection exercise

- Registration: 5,000.00
- Tuition: 500,000.00
- Duration: 3 years
Prospective M Phil/Ph D students shall in addition to the requirement for LLM admission, possess the following:
- LL M in Legislative Drafting of Institute; or
- LL M in Legislative Drafting from any other recognised University from the Commonwealth Law System or the United States of America; or
- LL M from any other recognized University
A prospective student for the M Phil/Ph D degree may additionally be required to undergo a selection exercise. Where a candidate does not have an LL M degree in Legislative Drafting, the candidate shall be required to undertake such other pre-requisite or concurrent studies as may be prescribed by the Institute.
All prospective M Phil/Ph D students shall first be admitted into the M Phil programme.
Prospective students shall be required to provide:
- A research proposal (of not more than 2500 words including the title of the thesis, research question/ thesis abstract, outline of the study, research methodology, time frame, summary and contribution to knowledge and bibliography)
- A Statement of Purpose (one to two pages long, include any relevant additional information regarding the application, such as reasons for wanting to do a PhD)
- An up to date Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- A copy of their LL M transcript.

* Admission is offered only to Applicants that are not in Full-Time employment (Applicants in Full-Time employment will be required to take a Study Leave) and are not undertaking Full-Time Studies elsewhere during the study period.
