Thursday, July 6, 2017 remains an indelible date in the history of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies as two of its Professors were conferred the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The MacArthur Foundation recently announced nearly $9 million in funding to advance accountability and anti-corruption efforts in Nigeria. The grants are part of the Foundation’s On Nigeria grant making, which seeks to reduce corruption by building an atmosphere of accountability, transparency, and good governance in the country.

On Wednesday June 28th 2017, the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Professor Adedeji Adekunle donated several NIALS publications to the Faculty of Law, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba – Akoko, Ondo State.
Presenting the publications to the representative of the faculty of Law, Adekunle Ajasin University, Prof. Yomi Dinakin (HOD, Jurisprudence and International Law), Prof. Adekunle expressed the hope that the books would promote the advancement of legal education in the Law faculty.

Between Tuesday, 9th and Thursday, 11th May, 2017, the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) in conjunction with the Africa Alliance Partnership of the Conference of Western Attorneys General (CWAG) organised a three-day Workshop on  Oral Advocacy in Nigeria.

The United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) project on Support to Access to Justice and Rule of Law in the North-East is focused on bridging the existing gaps by contributing to providing immediate access to justice as part of stabilization and early recovery from conflict.
