The Director-General, Professor Adedeji Adekunle, SAN on 21st November, 2017,

paid courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of University of Lagos, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS. The Director-General was accompanied by the Acting Institute Secretary - Mrs SN Jerry-Imahiagbe, the Director of Studies - Professor Animi Awah, the Acting Institute Librarian - Dr Jide Owoeye, the Coordinator CCLE - Mr Castro Nwabuzor, the Senior Assistant Secretary (Information) - Mr. Godwin Atsu Adalikwu and Senior Assistant Secretary (Protocol) - Mr. Fidelis Ibhagbosoria.

The Vice Chancellor warmly received the Director General and NIALS delegation. Other members of the University management team in attendance were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Development Services - Professor Folasade Ogunsola, the Registrar - Dr. Taiwo Ipaye and the University Librarian - the Dr. Oluwakemi Fadehan. Also in attendance were UNILAG principal officers from the Academic Planning Unit, Quality Assurance and Servicom, Bursary, Works and Physical Planning Department.

It will be recalled that Professor Ogundipe was recently appointed as Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos and the purpose of the visit was two-pronged- first to congratulate him on his recent appointment as Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos and to reinforce the cordial relations between the two institutions. The Director-General noted that the good relationship between Institute and the University was sustained by the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Rahamon Bello, and pledged the Institute’s support for activities of the Univeristy under  the leadership of the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS.

The Vice-Chancellor in his response, thanked the Director-General for the visit and stated that the University of Lagos and the Institute should explore deeper collaboration to ensure that current national issues are discussed among academicians and that articulated ideas are disseminated to the public and the nation at large for the sake of national development.  He noted that the public have more confidence in information emanating from the academia. The Vice-Chancellor noted that the University of Lagos Radio and Television Stations are useful media for the dissemination of trustworthy information.

The visit ended with exchange of gifts between the Vice-Chancellor and the Director-General.
